My passion for the game has always been strong, but my true calling supporting the players began in 2001. That year, I had the opportunity to help a player in New England navigate a difficult credit and financial situation, and it opened my eyes to a deeper need within the professional sports community.

I discovered was that while most players receive plenty of financial advice, few are given a clear direction or an understanding of the fundamentals of how credit works, how to manage a paycheck, or how to build long-term financial security.

For over a decade, I’ve been teaching a specialized credit and financial literacy curriculum to the Dallas Cowboys incoming NFL rookies. This program covers essential topics like establishing credit, understanding credit scores, breaking down a rookie salary, and becoming tax efficient.

According to Sports Illustrated, more than 78% of NFL players face financial hardship or bankruptcy after retirement. At Amaya Financial, we’ve spent the last ten years working alongside the Dallas Cowboys to flatten that curve, empowering players with the financial knowledge and confidence they need to secure their futures.
